KODAK BOWLS CLUB
COMPETITION RULES - 2006

1. DATES OF ROUNDS: All matches should be played on the appointed days. The dates are specified on the competition draw sheets and the order of play (and markers for singles games) will be posted on the “Current Information” noticeboard.

Anyone unable to play on the appointed day can arrange to play BEFOREHAND (except in the Two Wood where the whole event, except the final, will be held on one day). He/she would then be responsible for providing the marker and for notifying the Competition Secretary with at least 7 days notice. Their opponent may select the rink.

Where a match is not played by the closing date, both players, or teams, may be scratched.

If any player has trouble contacting an opponent, he/she should notify the Competition Secretary, whose decision shall be final.

2. ELIGIBILITY: All competitions are open to all members except the Junior where all entrants must have a handicap of less than 2 and must not have won a Club Singles competition.

3.  SCORING:

   (a) Singles - Played to 21 shots.
   (b) Pairs - Played to 21 ends. The difference of the rounded-up average handicaps of each pair is added to the
score of the lower handicapped pair.
   (c) Two Woods - Best of 3 sets. 7 shots wins set. Possession of the Jack alternates at the start of each set.
   (d) Handicap Singles - Played to 21 shots plus handicap. (Thus a 4 handicap player has to score 25; a -3 player
      18).

4.  FINALS:  Will be played on Club Finals Weekend. If a player cannot play on the appointed day, he/she must concede at the earliest opportunity, before playing any further matches. In the event of a call off after a semi-final, the two losing semi-finalists will play off for a place in the Final.

5.  CLUB LEAGUES:  In the event of any game being postponed, the team postponing the fixture must, within two weeks of the postponement, arrange a new date for the game to be played. This new date must be within four weeks of the original one and the competition secretary must be informed of the new arrangements.
